A.K.A I heard you like Suppanomimi

It should be obvious why you want one. If it's not obvious let me break it down for you. +5% Dual Wield, which is the equivalency of 5% haste for your DPS, but works outside of the gear haste cap, and is on your DAMN EAR.

Requirements

  • Sky access, be on the mission "Ark Angels" (or "The Gate of the Gods", that one is just a cutscene)
  • Ark Pentasphere item (I've got this sorted)

The Setup

  • PLD/??? - Deltai. (SJ best for supertanking, so BLU for cocoon, WAR for defender, etc)
  • WAR/NIN - Gnaal
  • BLU/NIN - Insrick
  • MNK/NIN - Zyhlaari
  • SCH/RDM - Kaegos

The Opponents

  • Ark Angel HM - Hume, dual wielding swords. Uses Mighty Strikes & Mijin Gakure, and has a conal WS.
  • Ark Angel GK - Galka, great katana. Uses Meikyo Shisui & has a wyvern pet, has AoE + bind WS.
  • Ark Angel MR - Mithra, axe. Uses Perfect Dodge & can charm a player, also has a tiger/mandragora pet. Uses AoE sleep ws!
  • Ark Angel EV - Elvaan, sword + shield. Uses Invincible & Benediction. Has AoE silence WS! Can one-shot people with Spirits Within if its HP is high.
  • Ark Angel TT - Tarutaru, scythe (floating guy). Uses Manafont & Blood Weapon. Teleports around the circular battlefield casting spells, but is incapable of leaving this area except when blood weapon is up. Also casts AoE Petrify (wat).

Stuff to Bring

  • Food! Tav Tacos for Deltai, some sort of suitable DD food for others.
  • Reraise! At least a scroll. If you have backup items then that's good too.
  • Shihei! Keep that shit out of the toolbag, yo.
  • Echo Drops! If you can fit a macro for them, do so. /item "Echo Drops" <me>
  • Icarus Wing! 'nuff said.

The Battle - It Begins

Hold onto each others asses, this one will be a wild ride.

Initially we will enter and put up long-lasting buffs. So protect/shell, reraise, food, utsusemi, etc. ZYH and INS use Icarus Wing, Gnaal hold onto yours.

The battlefield has a loooong-ass winding hallway which leads to a long staircase down to the arena circle where the Ark Angels wait. Remember, the Tarutaru can't leave this circle normally - we will abuse this.

Once we are ready, we will advance to camp. The "killteam" (Zyhlaari, Gnaal, Insrick) will be fighting in the tunnel, far back enough from the top of the stairs to be well out of range of any AoE going on at the top of those stairs.
So they'll be back around the last bend in the hallway such that I can stand AT the bend and reach both the killteam and the top of the stairs with healing. I'll demonstrate where I need you at the time - also check out this mad diagram I made of our eventual positions

We all stand here and I will put up Embrava at this time, so gather on me - after which we must all act very quickly and efficiently. We'll have 11 minutes 15 seconds of Embrava time, so we want to make the most of it.

The gist of this strategy is - Ditch the Taru, Supertank hugebitch, Kill in order of MR > HM > GK > Pets > EV > TT.

Zyh & Ins remain at Killteam camp. Gnaal, Deltai and I will head down to the bottom of the stairs.
Gnaal will target Ark Angel MR.
Deltai will run down into the arena and aggro (not w/ abilities or spells, just run in and back out) the group.
Gnaal and I run up the stairs just ahead of Deltai, keeping MR targeted.
Deltai runs back up to the top of the stairs and sits in full defense gear facing as many of the enemies as possible.
At this point Gnaal uses Provoke on the MR and drags it over to Zyh and Insrick - KILL THAT BITCH

The Battle - Supertank

Deltai will focus on staying in defensive gear and using abilites as needed (rampart, sentinel, reprisal, defender etc.). She will NOT engage, or flash/voke or take any directly offensive action against them. This means they'll stay stuck on her no matter what, even if I drop cure bombs on her all day.
I will provide her with high-strength Phalanx, and a potent regen stacked onto Embrava regen
Deltai will just focus on staying alive, self-curing and all. If you need to Invincible, do it. We need to kill as many AA's as we can early in the fight.

The Battle - Save the Paladin!

Insrick use Diffusion+Haste, then 2hr. Start the MR fight with the Quadratic Skillchain of Ultimate Destruction. You know what I'm talking about. This is why you use the icarus wings at start. Do Asuran Fists into CA+Efflux Quadratic Continuum. Besides that shred it as fast as you possibly can.
Remember the MR will Perfect Dodge, when it does don't blow TP or MP on it, wait until you can finish it.
It will charm somebody at some point - shout out when it happens ASAP so I can sleep you. VERY IMPORTANT.
It uses an AoE Sleep WS, but Utsusemi can blink it - keep shadows up, shout out of if you get slept.

Once it's dead, reset shadows real fast and Gnaal come over, provoke Ark Angel HM (hume), and go back to killteam camp.
Insrick open with sudden lunge, it's Gnaals time to shine. Hopefully you have or nearly have TP at this time. Execute the G.axe kill combo.
Berserk/warcry/all shit, then Mighty Strikes, War Charge, Kings Justice. ICARUS WING. Kings Justice. Get moar TP. Kings Justice.
Insrick attempt to stunlock with Head Butt & Sudden Lunge so Gnaal doesn't die. Otherwise just try to kill him.
The goal is to push his HP down ASAP incase he decides to Mijin Gakure.

Next is Ark Angel GK - reset shadows and pull him to camp. He's a WS spammer and will get very annoying. His WS inflict status effects - call them to me as you need them removed. Because he self-skillchains under Meikyo Shisui but the WS are all single hit, try to keep shadows up if you have his attention. If your shadows are down and he hits you with a WS, stay calm. Time it so immediately after the next WS you cast utsu and you will survive.
Zyhlaari should use Hundred Fists to mop up this guy quicky.

If the pets are still on Deltai (see 'The Battle - Pets?' for more info) at this point, pull and kill them.

When just the EV remains attacking Deltai, everyone can advance to her position and fight it down. Del can start swinging at this point also.
It is very annoying because it uses Invincible and Benediction to drag the fight out. It uses Spirits Within which does damage based on HP - someone will probably die, and it will probably be pretty funny. It uses an AoE silence WS (can be blinked), so stay ready for Echo Drop usage. It can also dispel buffs, so we may end up kissing Embrava goodbye at this point - this is why EV was left to last.

The Battle - Pets?

It's unclear if the pets share hate with the master or something like that. If when the MR is pulled the pet goes with her, call it and I'll sleep it. Then when MR is dead kill the pet. Likewise for GK's wyvern.

The Battle - Shortstack Finish

Once all other AA's are down the Taru will be just chilling in the arena. If we are in good condition and still have Embrava, we'll all run down to the circle and murder him - I'll call it at the time.
If not we'll recover up, reset our buffs, and THEN go murder him.
He warps around which will get very confusing. Insrick attempt to stun-lock him, especially when casting bad spells.
He has an AoE paralyze & petrify WS, which can be blinked but will probably hit us a lot. Call whatever you need to me.

Once the taru falls, the battle is over!

What if I die?

If you go down and it's just you, wait for a lull in the fight to get up, e.g. wait until just after a TP move goes off. Get up, run away, and reuse some reraise if you have it. Rebuff, and you can rejoin the fight carefully.

What if we all die?

If we're going to wipe, let it happen, just try your best to kill whatever you're fighting if it's close. When everyone is dead the remaining AA's will retreat. Once they're long-gone we can reraise, rest, rebuff, and continue the fight where we left off.
